It’s probably worth noting, in the interest of full disclosure, that little content here will be dedicated to individual stocks and bonds. To mince words, I ain’t there yet. Perhaps there will be the day when I have both the play money and the hubris to take a stab at buying individual stocks, but my Boglehead mentality and general situation (raising a family while saving for retirement) means mutual funds, baby. Besides, until I’m maxing out all my tax-deferred vehicles, it doesn’t make sense. Quite likely, it never will. So take heed that the titular stocks and bonds are rolled up in low-cost, tax efficient mutual funds. Mostly index funds at that.
But hey, “Mutual Funds, Emergency Cash Reserves, and Rock & Roll” just doesn’t have that ring, does it?
